Currently Needed Items

The items listed here are those currently needed by Big Issue North.

When you purchase a donation through this store, your exact purchased item is sent directly to your selected Big Issue North location. They can then distribute or use the donated items as required, making a real, tangible difference to someone's life. It also means that they don't have to spend money donations on items, and can instead use it for those things only money can buy.

There is no minimum order size, and all items include free delivery.

Big Issue North don’t pay for our service, and we use just £0.50 of the item prices below to cover our transaction costs and price fluctuations from our suppliers. We don't profit from the sale of any items on the website, and instead rely on corporate sponsorship to keep us running.

More About Big Issue North

Around 250 people sell Big Issue North each week. Big Issue North vendors buy the magazine from one of our regional offices for £1.50 and then sell it on established pitches in towns and cities for £3. They keep the £1.50 they make on every magazine. Selling Big Issue North also gives vendors motivation and helps to boost their self-esteem.

Big Issue North sellers are making a commitment to earn an income – working not begging.

75% of vendors have never begged, and all of the 19% of vendors who had committed crime prior to selling the magazine say they have offended less since they have been selling.

Big Issue North Trust is a registered charity (charity number 1056041), which raises funds to provide a range of support for vendors, including support accessing services, help getting ID, home furnishing packages and projects such as breakfast clubs.
